The Mongolian cuisine has a bad reputation due to its small number of recipes and also to the small number of the ingredients that can be used. The appetizers that are served in Mongolia as mostly based on meat. Hence, some meat dishes may be served both as appetizers and main dishes. This fact proves that the appetizers do not have an essential role in the Mongolian cuisine. However, the most popular Mongolian appetizers are: sesame chicken balls, dumplings, spring rolls that have a chicken filling, sweet and sour pork or fish packed in dough, beans with shrimp and crabmeat with tofu.
