A margarita is a cocktail made with tequila, an orange-flavored Liqueur (usually triple sec) and lime juice. The rim of the glass is traditionally dipped in lime juice followed by coarse salt. A margarita may be served "straight up" (dry) or "on the rocks" (with ice). It can also be blended with ice into a slushy consistency.
