Some of the most popular salads in the Guyanese cuisine are the smoked banga salad, fruit salads and four bean salad. The smoked banga salad contains smoked fillet or banga mary fish, moyo, cucumber, onion rings, wiri-wiri peppers and lime juice. The salad is decorated with cucumbers and served with pickled banga mary. Four bean salad is made of wax, red, soy and black-eyed beans, together with green peppers, sugar, vinegar, parsley, salad oil, mustard, tarragon leaves and basil eaves. Fruit salads mostly consist of bananas, oranges, grapefruits, Malacca pears, papaya, cherries for decorating and a simple syrup, made of sugar and water.
