Fiji cuisine is a very original and complex one. Desserts come in different ways, either they are made like fruit salads having very many shapes and forms or made as cooked dishes. Many types of ingredients are used when preparing a traditional Fiji dessert. Cassava pudding for instance is made with peeled and grated fresh cassava, shredded coconut, and root ginger and lightly crushed cloves. As a topping one can always use whipped cream. Cakes with bananas and cassavas are a real delight to one sense. The main ingredients in these kinds of cakes are mashed bananas, fresh cassavas and a lot of coconut cream.
