The meat dishes enjoy a great popularity in Estonia and are very appreciated by the local people. However, the tourists seem to be intimidated by both the look and the names of these dishes. The main meat types that are used are: pork and fish. The chicken meat is not such popular. The main attractions, in matter of meat dishes, are represented by Sült - pork that is boiled and then prepared with gelatin, Silgusoust, a dish that features ham, Mulgikapsad - a stew that contains pork and Keel hernestega - a dish that is usually served as appetizer. The last of them is made from tongue.
