There is a wide variety of meat meals in the Cypriot cuisine: smoked sausages (loukanika with coriander), minced meat filling (koupepia), smoked pork (lounza in sandwiches), marinated pork (afelia), and beef or rabbit stew (stiphado) or lamb chunks. Some other famous Cypriot soups, which are also served in Turkey, are the trahana (crushed wheat soup) and the yayla corbasi. The Greek salad, also called horiatiki salata is the most enjoyed Cypriot salad and it is prepared with tomatoes, lettuce, bell peppers, feta cheese, green olives and many seasonings and herbs. The most representative desserts of Cyprus are the ones based on fruits and pastries with syrup.
