The stew is, together with the soup, one of the most specific meals. Stews are made of chicken, beef or fish as the main meats and some of the most famous are: the kontomire stew, the chicken and the fish stew. There are some famous dressings in Burkina Faso: the riz gras (prepared for the rice meals) or the gombo sauce, made of okra, but also used in other stews. These sauces are served with to, which is porridge of millet and maize. The groundnut soup, which is very exotic, the mushrooms and snail soup or the greens soups are specific to different the Burkina Faso regions.
