The Bulgarian cuisine is very rich in beverages. Some of them are consumed on their own while others accompany the Bulgarian dishes. Bulgaria might not be recognized worldwide for its beverages, but the local people are happy do enjoy such diverse drinks. In this country there are more than 8 brands of wines, 14 brands of beers and other drinks, such as Menta and Mastica. The last two are inspired by the Greek cuisine, but have been adapted by the Bulgarians. Boza and Ayran are other two famous beverages in Bulgaria. Besides these, mineral water is also consumed. For those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, there are dairy products such as milk and yoghurt and fruit juices. Some of the alcoholic beverages are served along with the appetizers.
