Potatoes grow throughout the country. Belarusians eat them in a variety of ways. They may be baked in the embers of a fire, then sprinkled with salt and eaten with butter. They may be grated and made into dumplings, which are stuffed with mushrooms or vegetables and baked in the oven. However, when thinking of Belarusian salads we shouldn’t stop at just this recipe, since there are hundreds of other delicious salad combinations. The mushroom salad is a very popular dish and it uses easy to find ingredients: 40 g dried mushrooms, 200 g beef liver, 2 salted cucumbers, 3 onions, 2 eggs , 150 ml mayonnaise, 3 tbsp vegetable oil and pepper and salt to taste.
