Argentinean salads (called ensaladas) are based on veggies, but they usually accompany meat meals. Ceviche is found in many countries with similar backgrounds. the Argentinean ceviche is light and refreshing, as it contains sea scallops or bay scallops, lime juice, chopped onions, Spanish olives, olive brine, peeled tomatoes, hot ketchup and dried oregano. The steak salad with spicy garlic salsa is a more complicated recipe, done in 2 steps. Step 1 includes making the garlic salsa out of olive oil, fresh parsley, red wine vinegar, lemon, oregano, pepper flakes and garlic. The steak is done afterwards with green onions, plum tomatoes, London boil beef, bell pepper, lettuce and sliced mushrooms. Another traditional salad is the ensalada criolla (made of chopped tomatoes and manzana). Generally, Western dressings are missing from the Argentinean salads, as these are mix only with vegetable oil, vinegar and lime juice, which keeps them lighter and healthier.
