Description Edit

Rocambole. The typical Brazilian roll is filled with fudge (doce de leite) or guava marmalade (goiabada).

  • 5 ovos
  • 5 colheres de açúcar
  • 5 colheres de água
  • 5 colheres de farinha de trigo
  • 1 pitada de fermento em pó

Massa Edit

  1. Bata as claras em neve.
  2. Adicione as gemas, o açúcar, a água e bata bem.
  3. Adicione a farinha, o fermento e mexa bem, mas sem bater.
  4. Coloque a massa numa fôrma forrada com papel manteiga.
  5. Asse o bolo em forno quente (200 graus) por 15 – 20 minutos ou até ficar dourado.
  6. Tire o bolo da fôrma, mas sem tirar o papel manteiga.
  7. Espalhe o recheio sobre o bolo e enrole o bolo em forma de rocambole. Nota: Retire o papel manteiga com cuidado quando estiver enrolando o bolo.
  8. Polvilhe o rocambole com açúcar e sirva.

Cake mixture Edit

  1. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
  2. Add the egg yolks, the sugar, the water and beat well.
  3. Add the flour, the baking powder and fold in gently.
  4. Put the cake mixture on a tray lined with baking paper.
  5. Bake the cake in preheated oven (350°F) for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown and done.
  6. Remove the cake from the tray, but don't remove the baking paper.
  7. Spread the filling on the cake and roll it up like a Swiss roll. Note: Remove the baking paper gently when rolling it up.
  8. Sprinkle the Brazilian roll with sugar and serve.

Receita 1: (doce de leite) Edit

  1. Cozinhe uma lata fechada de leite condensado em água por 30 – 40 minutos.
  2. Deixe a lata esfriar por meia hora antes de abrir.

Receita 2: (goiabada) Edit

  1. Corte a goiabada em pedaços pequenos e coloque numa panela.
  2. Adicione um pouco de água e cozinhe em fogo baixo, mexendo sempre, até goiabada derreter bem.

Filling Edit

Recipe 1: (fudge) Edit

  1. Heat a "closed" can of condensed in water for 30 – 40 minutes.
  2. Let the can cool down for half an hour before opening it.

Recipe 2: (guava marmalade) Edit

  1. Cut the guava marmalade into small pieces and put them in a pan.
  2. Add some water and cook under low heat, stirring it constantly, until the guava marmalade is smooth.
