- 3/4 c shortening
- 1/4 c unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 c Packed light brown sugar
- 2 lg eggs; Lightly Beaten
- 2 tb Grated orange peel
- 1/4 c orange juice
- 1 ts vanilla
- 1 c buttermilk
- 3 1/2 c Sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 ts baking powder
- 1 ts baking soda
- 1/4 ts salt
- 1 c Semisweet chocolate morsels
Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees. Using Electric Mixer, Cream TogetherShortening, butter And brown sugar in Large Bowl Until Light And Fluffy.Beat in eggs, orange peel, orange juice, vanilla And buttermilk UntilWell-Combined. Sift Together flour, baking powder, baking soda And salt InSeparate Bowl. Blend Into butter Mixture Until Combined. Stir in ChocolateMorsels. Drop Batter by Teaspoonfuls Onto 2 Greased Baking Sheets. Bake 12To 15 Minutes or Until Brown Around Edges And Bottoms. Yield: 6 Dozen.
