  1. Heat pressure cooker.
  2. Add shortening; brown steak.
  3. Add remaining ingredients.
  4. Close cover securely.
  5. Place pressure regulator on vent pipe.
  6. Cook for 15 minutes.
  7. Let pressure drop of its own accord.
  8. Remove bay leaf.
  9. Thicken gravy, if desired.
