Barbecued Chuck Roast Serves 8

This is very easy and has great taste. I served this with garlic bread and a vegetable and it made a great meal. This was posted on another group by Julie Morales.

Ingredients: 4 pounds chuck roast 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 1 cup sliced onions 2 tablespoons shortening 2 cloves minced garlic 1/2 cup catsup 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon rosemary 1 teaspoon salt

Melt the shortening in a heavy pan and brown the roast on all sides in hot shortening. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is soft. Combine catsup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary and salt. Pour over meat. Cover and cook slowly until meat is fork tender, about 2 1/2 hours.

This may be cooked in the crock pot, but allow 8 to 10 hours for cooking time.
