This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Wasters Estate in Van, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients[]

Rum Butter Sauce[]

Directions[]

  1. Cream butter then gradually add sugar beating at medium speed of an electric mixer.
  2. Add egg and beat until blended.
  3. Combine flour, salt and cinnamon then mix well.
  4. Add to creamed mixture then beat on low speed of an electric mixer until smooth.
  5. Stir in water and vanilla.
  6. Fold in apples and pecans then spoon into a greased and floured plate.
  7. Bake at 350 °F for 45 minutes.

Rum Butter Sauce[]

  1. To make sauce combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan and mix well.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute.
  3. Stir in rum then pour over cake.
