Amish Onion Patties

Ingredients Edit

  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal or panko bread crumbs or both
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups onions, chopped

Directions Edit

  • Mix together the ingredients and add the milk.
  • Add onions and mix thoroughly.
  • Drop the batter into hot deep fat.
  • Turn them and flatten them into patties after 3 minutes.
  • Fry about 3–4 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels.
